I’ve spent more than a decade teaching marketers how to be publishers. As one of the founders of the content marketing movement, I founded CMI and Junta42 after co-writing THE handbook on content marketing, Get Content, Get Customers. I travel around the world talking to businesses, in keynotes and workshops, about the need to create valuable media channels, leveraging print, online, in-person and social media platforms in the process.
I’m so glad you have joined us at CMI. I have found that a lot of people understand the whyof content marketing, but they have a lot of questions about how they should execute their initiatives.
As the Chief Strategy Officer for the Content Marketing Institute, I lead the client advisory, education and technology practices for the organization. We’ve helped large organizations such as Dell, UPS, AT&T, Petco, Oracle and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation develop new plans for the content marketing efforts.
My book with Joe Pulizzi, Managing Content Marketing, is recognized as the “owner’s manual” for deploying a content marketing process. My second book Experiences: The Seventh Era of Marketing comes out in December 2014.
Vice President of Operations
I run the day-to-day operations for CMI. If you have any questions about general operations or billing, I’m the one to contact. I have been with CMI since their inception and find the feedback from customers to be the most valuable component of my job. I am also the the contact for any questions or concerns you may have about our premier industry event, Content Marketing World.
I am Vice President & Publisher, overseeing sales revenue and partnerships that cover a bevy of CMI properties including Chief Content Officer magazine, Content Marketing Institute online and in-person events (like Content Marketing World, Intelligent Content Conference and Content Marketing Master Classes).
With more than 13 years of media experience, I had previously spent 5 years at Crain Communications, most recently as Senior Account Executive at BtoB magazine/online. My role at CMI is to forge strategic media partnerships and oversee all brand revenue in an effort to better serve both our ever-expanding audience and sponsor partners.
Creative media strategy is my specialty, and I am always available to discuss exciting ways to reach our audience that really hit the mark.
I oversee the content on CMI and coordinate with our fantastic group of contributors. If you have content marketing questions that you would like our contributors to answer or if you are someone who wants to write for us, let me know.
I’m a big believer that customer-facing content can transform any business. I’ve worked in marketing for a decade, both as a product marketer for a technology company and as a consultant with companies of all sizes.
I oversee all of the marketing efforts for CMI, Content Marketing World, Chief Content Officer, CMI research and all other CMI properties and happenings. It is my goal to cultivate our community, nurture our relationships and build new ones every single day through our online (and offline) channels. I want to communicate with you daily and deliver our content via email or social – the way YOU want to connect with us, and best of all, I want to see you IRL at Content Marketing World.
My 20+ years in marketing includes agency life, brand marketing and 10+ years consulting on marketing strategy, national restaurant marketing and nonprofits. I remain passionate about nonprofit marketing and a member of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Social Council which I helped launch in 2012.
I oversee all of the creative and art direction of all CMI/CMW projects. I have worked as an art director for 18 years both in advertising and the publishing industry. My role as creative director is truly an exciting (and fun) one. To be a part of great CMI/CMW initiatives from the earliest ideation to their final release is something very special. I am very fortunate to have such a great team to work with that has a keen sense of creative vision and allows me to lead the charge.
Director of Editorial Content and Curation
I help CMI deliver industry-leading editorial that enables our audience to more fully realize the benefits of content marketing. I do this in a variety of ways — from facilitating the original content that’s published on the CMI blog, to curating our diverse content offerings into multiple engaging formats, to producing innovative resources like CMI’s Online Training program.
For over a decade, I’ve been dedicated to building and managing content initiatives for media brands, publishers, and agencies alike. Through my consulting practice, Jodi Harris Content Consulting, I continue to advise these businesses on the most effective techniques and operational processes for successful brand storytelling.
I develop the editorial strategy and run the day-to-day editing for Chief Content Officer magazine, a bimonthly print magazine for executive marketers owned by CMI. I also manage a tiny content marketing shop in Boston called SoloPortfolio. We provide professional service firms with C-level content—from sophisticated research reports to visually rich eBooks, and everything in between.
Lisa Murton Beets
I execute a variety of research and editorial projects for CMI. I work with our strategic, content development, and marketing leads to ensure that we develop products that will be most beneficial to our audience. I am a former B2B journalist/managing editor, editorial/marketing communications consultant, nonprofit communicator, and small business owner. I also have extensive experience as an editorial director/chief editor for a wide range of custom publishing projects.
Public Relations & Media Manager
I primarily oversee all the PR and publicity for CMI and all of our brands. I also handle all of the strategic media partnerships for our events, as well as pitching in to help with other marketing efforts.
As a former journalist with a background in local TV news, I’m passionate about the power of storytelling. I love that I get to tell the world about our great team and the work they do here at CMI. Feel free to contact me if you ever need any information about CMI or our team.
Kelley’s love for travel and connecting with new people – of course coupled with her passion for creating spectacular events – has proved amazingly valuable for the CMI team. Content Marketing World is planned by Kelley and her team, from the world-class keynote speakers down to the Orange Crush supplied on networking breaks.
Kelley has worked with CMI since the inaugural Content Marketing World in 2011, following 15+ years in the meetings & conventions field. Find Kelley leading the team in orange at CMWorld, and also spearheading event planning for the Intelligent Content Conference.
For the past 10+ years my passion has been helping marketers create smart content marketing solutions that engage and convert. As media sales executive I work with Peter Loibl in helping a wide variety of innovative content marketing solution providers such as agencies, and mobile, social, SEO, media, ad networks and email service providers to market their goods and services to the CMI audience.
I oversee the production of Chief Content Officer magazine, as well as CMI’s webinar and sponsored e-mail programs. I am the owner of Execution Matters, a firm specializing in project management for publishers and content marketers. With more than two decades of experience, I assist clients with their A-Z project management needs in print and online. As the former Associate Director at Penton Custom Media, I have helped companies launch and maintain content marketing programs across the country, in a variety of industries.
I am “Girl Friday” for the Content Marketing Institute, and all related CMI properties. In other words you need a project done, I am your girl! My main responsibility is to facilitate all projects in regards to our websites and E-media, including our ebooks, whitepapers and other educational resources. I also oversee all online sponsor programs including CMI’s Benefactors, digital advertising and syndicated content programs.
Before CMI, I worked in the trade show industry, for a display manufacturer, as a lead system and purchasing coordinator.
Audience Development Manager
I oversee our email program and our database, meaning I am the one who makes sure you are getting targeted, relevant content through our marketing automation system and our customer relationship management system. I’m thrilled to share truthful, helpful knowledge through quality content.
Before CMI, I spent seven years in the newspaper industry, including four years at the Eagle Tribune Publishing Company. Previous Internet marketing gigs include SEO Copywriter for Brookstone, Blog Editor for SuccessWorks SEO Copywriting and marketing specialist for a medical device manufacturing company. I also volunteer as a victim/survivor advocate for Bridges Domestic & Sexual Violence Support.
Podcast Network Director
I oversee the development, launch and distribution of all podcast shows chosen to be a part of the CMI Podcast Network. With a career background that includes radio broadcasting (as both an on-air personality and copywriter), marketing project management and content marketing strategy, this role with CMI is a perfect fit.
My content marketing consultancy, Audio Content Solutions, specializes in helping brands and agencies integrate audio content into their overall content strategy. Audio is a powerful, and often underused, content delivery platform. I believe it can be successfully implemented for both internal and external audiences.
My role is primarily “behind the scenes”, making sure that our IT infrastructure is running in top shape. That includes managing the servers, systems and related vendors that support all of CMI’s web properties. But what I really love is taking the brilliant concepts from other team members and turning them into something tangible on the web that benefits our visitors and fans.
Kim joined the CMI team in 2014, bringing her organizational skills and detail to the group by providing editorial analytics, marketing and event support. Not one to shy away from a task, Kim has been a great addition tracking down information and details for the multitude of CMI projects.
