The Director of Communications and Content is the guardian of Tropic’s brand, its voice, and all facets of Tropic’s communications, as well as its public and media relations strategies. You will develop and execute a communication strategy and roadmap for how content can contribute to achieving Tropic’s defined business goals – and are responsible for the development of Tropic’s overall communication strategies. Your objective will be to position Tropic as the go-to resource and thought leader for spend management for finance, procurement, IT, and Ops leaders. You will be our brand steward for how we communicate internally and externally so we can continue to elevate our voice and demonstrate our subject matter expertise. You are a resilient self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment where initiative and innovation are required.

What You’ll Do

  • Implement communication strategies for employees, stakeholders, members, and clients effectively
  • Maintain Messaging Framework and Communication Style Guide for internal and external messaging consistency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor communication plans for different external and internal audiences and initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal and external SMEs, product marketing, and other GTM teams to develop a full funnel content strategy and compelling content to engage and convert prospects and customers for various channels including memos, newsletters, press releases, social media, and web
  • Write and edit communication materials, ensuring consistency in tone, style, and messaging
  • Monitor opportunities for speaking engagements and award submissions, draft submissions
  • Collaborate with Demand Gen and Customer marketing teams on webinar topics and speakers
  • Oversee social media campaigns, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement
  • Lead public relations efforts, media relations, press releases, and crisis communications
  • Manage and develop a content marketing manager to ensure their growth and success
  • Develop content for client engagement, marketing, and ongoing communication efforts including research, ebooks, blogs, videos, website copy, email
  • Assess communication strategies’ & content success using KPIs across media coverage, social media, brand reputation, website engagement, traffic and conversion rates

What You’ve Done

  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in English, journalism, communication, or advertising)
  • SaaS experience required, experience with procurement and finance industries preferred
  • 7+ years of experience with internal/ external communication, copywriting, or journalism
  • Previous corporate experience communicating and working closely with management and various stakeholders
  • Previous content marketing experience preferred
  • Exceptional technical and creative writing skills, solid understanding of SEO best practices
  • Strong understanding of communications principles, best practices, and industry trends
  • Proficient in using various communication tools and platforms, both traditional and digital
